What are you up to currently ?

I am a songwriter with a keen interest in performing arts and anything remotely creative. I have participated in numerous events that i have also helped to produce and promote. These events have all been about raising awareness of mental health, sexism, racism etc regardless of the ages, genders or ethnic backgrounds of the audience. We used creative art and performance art to open up the discussion about these issues and many more. I am currently attending a short film production program and attending workshops at UCB to prepare for my makeup artistry course starting in September. I’m also working on new music for a demo cd, mixtape and EP.

Why did you join the project ?

I joined the project because it’s always been something I’ve wanted to do but struggled to find as an opportunity, I also felt I lacked the skills to thrive in this part of the creative sector. I felt this project would be good as I am a beginner to event planning, but i knew this project would have great results in the end resulting in me obtaining the necessary skills i need to work professionaly in planning live events.

What do you hope to gain ?

I hope to gain confidence and be able to stay motivated throughout

What are you looking forward to ?

I’m looking forward to the festival, and seeing the end result of all the hard work, planning and dedication. I’m also excited about learning new skills, growing my confidence and hearing from the different speakers and their individual methods of planning and executing a successful show, event or festival.

I’m a recent English and French graduate of the University of Warwick, but I love anything to do with arts and culture. I’m currently working as a journalist for a magazine and as an executive assistant for a literary journal.

I joined the project as I love music and enjoy nothing more than going out to gigs with friends. I’ve also worked in marketing and events, mostly in theater and film.

What do you hope to gain?

I hope to gain experience in planning and marketing an event over a long-term period and having real responsibility over it.

What are you looking forward to?

Additionally, I really enjoy meeting new people, especially those involved in the Birmingham arts scene. I find it incredibly interesting to hear about other people’s experiences and perspectives so I’m really looking forward to the days leading up to our events this year and the days themselves to interact with people and build up a buzz for our events.
